Representing a high school of about 700 students, the Royal
Blues are one of the largest and most spirited organizations on campus. In recent years, the band
has placed 1st at contests in Southington, Cheshire, and the US Coast Guard Academy in New London.
In 2004, the band was named USSBA Class IIIA Connecticut State Champions and USSBA New England Class IIIA Regional
Champions. In the spring of 2008, the Royal Blues performed live on the Channel 3 TV morning news, at Walt
Disney World, and made their Bushnell début performing during the curtain call sequence of The Music Man starring
Shirley Jones and Patrick Cassidy.
