Band camp: There has been much confusion about band camp.
There will no longer be a "Freshman" camp.
All students will report to camp August 17-21. The hours of band camp will be as follows: 9-12AM, 1-3PM, 6:30-9:00PM. I have added the evening component to our camp schedule due to staff availability.
This schedule closely mimics the band camp schedules of comparable bands from around the country. In order to progress to the next level of performance, we must accomplish much more during band camp. This will also allow us to perform our full show at our home competition. The more we prepare during band camp, the less new material we will have to learn "under the gun" once the school year begins.
I appreciate your cooperation as we adjust our camp schedule for this year. Please try to avoid scheduling major events during this week as it will be very difficult to bring your student up to speed if they miss too much rehearsal time. As always, if you encounter a major conflict, simply send an email.
